Study Circle students are required to read the following eleven books and submit book reports.
These books and other excellent materials can be purchased at the top rated Web based Catholic bookstore by clicking here. Or click on the images below for more information.
Of the 24 book reports needed to complete the SAI course, ten specific books are required of all participants. These ten constitute the bond of unity for our school of thought. They are the following:
Should you need a Bible, the following two are highly recommended. Click on the book image for more information.

A good study guide for the Gospels is Cornelius a Lapide’s Commentary on the Four Gospels. Click the book image.

10. Father Feeney and The Truth About Salvation by Brother Robert Mary, M.I.C.M., Tertiary
In addition to the above ten books, every student should read a rather long and well written biography of some favorite saint. This leaves 13 books which may be chosen freely by each student, in consultation with Saint Augustine Institute.
If you are uncertain as to whether a book will be acceptable, please e-mail the prefect at ToPrefect@Catholicism.org and submit the title/author and some information about the book so he can give you the go-ahead. The recommended and required titles do not need prior approval. Of the 13, choose wisely so you have a balance in your reading, for example, not all of your 13 remaining books should be of a devotional or biographical nature.

Can one join an existing study group?
Can participation in a study group be mostly through online efforts?
I think eventually I may be able to get a study group together but not until I feel more comfortable with all. First off, for years, I haven’t been an eager reader and will have to see if this works for me.
Do I have to buy all the books at one time or what can I start with and how much?

This is an amazing program. I graduated from high school in 1979 and we received a very watered down religious education.
I am going to follow the program by myself until I can find someone to do it with.
Thank you for making this available!!!

Dear Gerri:
Laudetur Iesus Christus! Please write me privately at ToPrefect@catholicism.org. Let me know where you live and I will search for an existing circle, a tertiary, or someone who might join you in your studies. Of course, you may wish to start your own Circle of Studies. Please acknowledge you received this. BTW, is Gerri a lady’s name?

This is wonderful. I have been searching the web for something like this. My husband will be starting RCIA classes in the fall and I will be able to share what I am learning with him. I am very anxious to begin.
We live in Pittsfield, NH and have never heard of the Saint Benedict Center.
Thank you for offering this program!
